10.3.1910, maj. Tymienica, Łęczyca Dist., Łódź Prov.Whilst the private memorial stone indicates the 26th Poznań Infantry Battalion, the CWGC register indicates he was commissioned into the Polish Resettlement Corps. The lieutenant was a technical officer in the battalion.A Polish source records that he died at Achnacarry Camp, Spean Bridge.  He was single.  His father was Izydor Zakrzewski of Marynki, Poświętne, Wysoko Maz. District.  His mother’s maiden name was Jadwiga Sousfeld. The grave of this Polish officer is located in a breathtaking position overlooking the hills and Glen Spean.  There is a magnificent private memorial to this officer which unfortunately is badly weathered.  As a private memorial it is not in the care of the Commission.
